OUR STORY
R G Phillips & Son Ltd is a family run business. From relatively humble beginnings, when the business was run from a garden shed the company was formed in 1981 by the late Bob Phillips.
The company doubled in size when his son Robert joined the company with his trade background as a Carpenter.
R G Phillips & Son Ltd now operate from the refurbished offices at Les Canus (at the entrance to Aladdin’s cave). Robert who is the Managing Director of 30 years oversees all aspects of the company business. Rob’s wife, Michelle has been part of the company for 28 years and now their daughter Kelsey, has joined the family business, together dealing with accounts, wages and admin. R G Phillips & Son’s larger projects are run by Robin Mauger, who has been a part of the company for 12 years as a Quantity Surveyor and his son Joseph has recently joined the team as Trainee Quantity Surveyor.
R G Phillips & Son Ltd have close contacts with various Architects, Surveyors and Property Management companies and also deal directly with private clients on all types and sizes of projects from easing a window to full renovation of barns/houses. R G Phillips & Son Ltd normally take on the role of Main Contractor providing a single point of contact.
OUR STORY
R G Phillips & Son Ltd has had some changes in ownership and management over the last few months. Both Robert (Rob) and Michelle (Miche) Phillips decided to retire at the end of 2023 following many, many years of managing the company. All at R G Phillips & Son Ltd would like to say a big thank you for all their hard work and wish them all the best with their retirement.
Robin Mauger has taken over the company as Principle and Managing Director, he has been with the company for over 17 years and assisted Rob and Miche in the running of the company.
Kelsey, Rob and Miche's daughter (third generation), who has been with the company for over 6 years has taken on the role of Office Manageress which includes Secretarial works, Accounts, Wages etc.
Joseph Mauger, Robins son, has re-joined the company from the start of 2A24 and we welcome him back as Senior Manager to oversee the Roofing and Small works sections of the company.
The company offices remain at Les Canus Farm (not a real farm), Les Canus, St Sampsons and other than the changes referred to above the family approach will continue with hands on management controlling a stable and loyal workforce.
